Rev. Chuck Sheridan is the director of House of the Risen Son Ministries. He and his wife Lynn have five children and twelve grandchildren. Chuck bought his first Harley when he was 18. Those were times of anger and rebellion for him. During those years it was the bikers he sought out, for their parties and lifestyle. He was not convinced to join but found being a hang around with southern Ontario motorcycle clubs to be rewarding. But the "rewards" soon grew to be a burden and Chuck turned to Christ. At the age of 25 he sold his bike to go to the Canadian Nazarene Bible College, which was in Winnipeg at that time.
Chuck entered biker ministry in 1987 through the International Christian Biker Association (ICBA) and founded the Bondslave Motorcycle Club in 1989. He entered full time ministry in February 1997 and was ordained in October 1999with the Apostolic Church of Pentecost of Canada. (see Links/Friends for ACOP).
Lynn is a powerful woman of prayer. She has a compassion for women from all walks of life. Her sweet spirit often attracts other women to her as she models a godly-woman behaviour. She teaches women's groups about how to pray for their husbands and to experience God in their lives. Together they share a vision that has birthed H.R.S. With the help of volunteers and leadership from ministry elders, H.R.S. has grown from just another biker ministry. H.R.S. now comprises of the Bondslave Motorcycle Club, the Lazarus House (for men in addiction recovery), a Foodbank, Overcomers Outreach 12-step meetings, a quarterly newsletter, preaching services at the Gospel Centre, a Prison Ministry, and has future plans for a Martha House for women.
HRS functions on a team ministry philosophy. Part of this team is the Associate Pastor Gavin Coyle and his wife Shandee. They are a large help with the Gospel Center and worship. They spend a large part of their time, visiting, teaching and directing the worship team. Using this method of ministry has been a great agent for continual growth and a tool for advancing God's kingdom. It is the hope of H.R.S. to continue to serve Christ in these ways. Feel free to visit us when in Winnipeg or contact us so that we might encourage one another. |
